Duke and Kevin Tetz at Houston AutoRamaThis last Thanksgiving weekend Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center, hosted the 51st Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama featuring some of the most impressive Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Performance Houston has to offer. The Houston show has long been know as one of AutoRamas biggest show, buy attendance it is the forth largest in the country. It is an easy to use this show as an indicator of the health of the Custom and Performance automotive community locally.  With the number of cars displayed for the 2010 AutoRama show being estimated to be around 800 cars, this looks to be the best show turn out in years.

When Chris Satterwhite's beautiful 1937 Chevy truck  won best in class for Modified Street Rod Pick-up, we had an opportunity to talking with Kevin Tetz from Spiketv’s Trucks.  Kevin pointed out the high quality and the quantity of our local cars, something all of us should be proud of. (See Chris' truck this month as our featured ride) Kevin also pointed out the local craftsmanship is here in Houston too, as seen in Chris' truck and especially the custom one of a kind stainless grill Bob created here at Dukes.

We are seeing more people getting re-involved again on a local level too. As a community it is important for all of us to keep this momentum going.  I would like to challenge all of you to join a local car club this year if you haven't, to attend local car shows and cruse night when you can, and most importantly get our youth involved by taking kids to car shows cruses and club meets.
